A Good Collaboration

For the last week-and-a-half, Denmark’s second largest city Aarhus (which also happens to be the home of Smartplan) celebrated “Aarhus Festuge” – a returning event every year in Aarhus. It’s one of Northern Europe’s largest cultural festivals, but it’s also just a big town fair for the people living in Aarhus. We at Smartplan wanted to contribute to the festival. Being a small business, we know the importance of taking part in the local community around us. And of course, we wanted to be part of our festive surroundings.

This idea resulted in Smartplan sponsoring “Bar Smil”, a local bar and one of our own customers.The sponsorship involved Smartplan helping Bar Smil with their new concept Wednesday Night Pub Quiz. Smartplan sponsored the three prizes of the quiz. The first prize-winners of four concert tickets was this team:

The Second prize was movie tickets and the third prize was a gift certificate for a bottle of liquor at Bar Smil. All in all it was a great night with cheerful guests and a nice atmosphere.

As part of the collaboration, we created a case about Bar Smil’s use of Smartplan. Focus was on how an online scheduling system can be a helpful tool particularly during busy times like the festival. We filmed and took photos during the quiz, and we also made an interview with Steffen Bomholt Kristensen, who is responsible for the employee scheduling at Bar Smil. He explained how he really likes the dynamic qualities of Smartplan, as it allows him to easily expand working hours and schedule more employees to work. Moreover, he appreciates that he doesn’t have to email a new schedule to his employees every time he makes a small change – they can just log on and see it themselves.

Right now, our finishing touches are being put on the case. When it’s done we’ll of course post a link from our Facebook page. The case will be featured along with other cases from different industries, so that current as well as future customers can be inspired by the features and functionality of Smartplan. Soon we will launch a whole new site at www.trysmartplan.com, where all the different cases can be found.
