Open position: Full-Time Python/Django Web Developer

We are looking for a talented developer to join us full-time.

Work Description

Due to increasing demand, we’re looking for the right developer to join our company and help us grow.

You will be working primarily with Python/Django and Javascript (React) web development. You’ll be developing new features as well as fixing bugs. You will be working together with our lead-developer and designer to improve our customer experience and move our product forward with robust and well-tested code.

Your work will impact our customers from day one. This is not some trivial code-monkey job. You will do important work and help the company grow from day one and delight our users with your code every day. We ship early and often.

You will be working on a product. We have no client-deadlines and no client meetings. We have an ongoing feedback loop from our customers, and you and the team decide what on the roadmap we will be working on.

Skills and requirements

You are first and foremost an experienced Python/Django developer.

It’s a plus if you’re also knowledgeable in some of the tech we use in the rest of our stack; AWS, MySQL & JavaScript(React).

You write simple, beautiful and robust code. You always leave the code base better than before, and you write unit-tests. You don’t like quick and dirty. You value to build stuff that lasts.

You are conversational in English, both in writing and speaking. As we work asynchronously and remotely, we need you to be a great writer and communicator.

You are independent, honest and not afraid to ask questions.

You have attention to detail and always have the users in mind when developing. You are open-minded and not afraid to discuss different solutions.

You’re proud of what you do and want to learn and become better every day.

About our Product and our Company

We’re a small remote team of 5 looking for a full-time developer. Our headquarter is in Aarhus, Denmark. But you can work from anywhere.

We created Smartplan almost four years ago. The company is growing, and our product is ever evolving, with several thousand of users every day.

We use basecamp.com and Slack to run our business.

Our product is an easy to use online employee scheduling tool. The majority of our customer base is in Denmark. We have started to expand to Sweden and Norway. We also have customers in Germany, UK, and Switzerland.

Our goal is to delight our customers every day and help them run a more frustration free business through a better employee schedule. We help them bring an important part of their business online instead of hacking around in an Excel spreadsheet.

How to apply

Send us your resume and a motivated cover letter. If you have a Github account or a StackOverflow account, please attach links to these.

If you have code examples or have participated in open source projects, we would love to know about it.
